Apple-licious Fun!

Well, I am slightly behind on blogging, but finally have a minute to sit down and share our apple-licious week!

We started off the week by exploring apples with our five senses by traveling around the room in rotations.

Then we recorded words that described apples on this chart.

The next day we discussed further the physical properties of apples and created this learning wall.

We also learned about the parts of the apple with the help of this chart, then created a craftivity about apple parts.

To add in some math to our learning, we compared which apple we liked best and practiced number printing with Ten Apples Up On Top.

I also added some materials to make these cutie apples in our art center for Social Centers time.  We enjoy social centers for the last 25 minutes of the day.

Another to change in social centers was our dramatic play area was transformed into an apple orchard.

Just growing apples like Johnny Appleseed...

I also added money since we have been practicing coins with our calendar time.  My cuties have loved "buying" apples with the coins and have even been naming the coins!

Here is another pic of the center later in the week.  Do you see the apple tree has grown more apples?  I added paint to our art center as well for the cuties to paint apples and add them to the tree.

Lego Men Pointers

Hiya peeps!  Just a little, quick post about some pointers I made for reading groups...

They're nothing fancy, but my class that has 14 boys this year is loving them!  I just hot glued these little Lego men to craft sticks.  Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!
